Meditation is not about just sitting still! Life is full of changes and meditation is a powerful tool for riding these changes skilfully. A time of change or transition is the time when you can make clear decisions about what direction you wish to take. From the small moments during the day when you decide what to do next, to the decisions which affect your whole life, meditation acts as the surfboard to rest on so that you can catch the moment of change. Like a surfer resting in the gap between waves, meditation gives you the space to see the wave which has just passed and the wave which is coming. You can then decide whether to catch it or not. You can also see how your decisions affect your life and the lives of those around you. With meditation you can balance yourself, catch moments of change and so live fully and skilfully.
