Members-only retreats at Tara Hills and Kurlana – go deeper with your practice
Lifeflow members-only retreats build on the experience that you gain at our public retreats. Each retreat is supervised and includes classes, guided meditations and deep relaxation sessions (and yoga during our summer retreat). A teacher is also available for one on one sessions. There are many fewer sessions than in our main retreats - this allows greater autonomy but also requires more self guidance and ability to structure your own day in retreat. Prerequisites apply to all of these retreats - details are below.

Life in Balancelinking the four streams of Lifeflow
2
pm Mon 28 Dec 2009 –
2 pm Wed 6 Jan 2010
John Burston, Gretta Koch
About this retreat
This retreat will explore advanced practices of Lifeflow meditation,
weaving together the four streams as taught in Levels 3 and 4. The
core program will be adapted from a classical Tibetan text, "The
Mahamudra by the Ninth Karmapa". This text outlines a clear
approach for working together ethics, calm and clarity, insight
and tantra (or integration). In particular we will be looking at
two main areas:
- questions about motivation - why do the work of meditation, why is motivation important?
- the practices for developing
insight
The first formal session will be deep
relaxation starting at 2 pm on the Monday. You can arrive any time
from 10 am onwards on the Monday and everyone is welcome to come
for lunch that day.
Please note that prerequisites apply to this
retreat. Participants are expected to stay for the entire 10 days.
Also, if you are going straight back to work after this retreat,
we recommend that you allow one extra day to settle back into your
normal routines before recommencing work, ie arranging your leave
so that you are not required back at work until Fri 8 Jan.
Pricing information is included in the
members' newsletter, Insight. |

Easter retreat at Kurlana
|

Stages of the Path
Retreat starts with lunch at 1 pm on Friday 2 April
Retreat finishes after lunch on Monday 5 April
Graham Williams et al
About this retreat
If you have a regular meditation practice, you may be becoming curious about what stage or level your practice is up to, or where your meditation experiences are likely to take you. At the two Kurlana retreats this year (Easter and the October long weekend), we will investigate a particularly useful system for understanding what is likely to unfold as your meditation deepens. This system comes from the tradition of Tantra, and outlines the different levels and stages experienced along the whole path of meditation; from developing the skill of meditative concentration, through to a stage of “no more meditation”. This retreat will provide you with a valuable framework to help you better understand your own meditation experiences, and to further develop your practice.

Ann Calvert
About this retreat
Having trouble getting started with your own meditation practice? Or, perhaps having started you are not sure which direction you are heading or what the purpose of having a regular practice is?
This retreat will focus on how to build a solid foundation that will enable your meditation experience to deepen and grow. As with any discipline, it is from this foundation that you can take your work further, sustain more advanced states (particularly in retreats) and be able to use the insights that come from your practice through the many seasons and colours of life.

General Information
About members-only retreats
The Lifeflow Members Retreats at Tara Hills have been set
up especially to support members build their own retreat practice.
Each retreat will include a daily meditation class that will focus
on the practical exercises from a recent Level 3 and 4 module, along
with two other guided meditation sessions each day. The remaining
time will be left free so that members can do their own meditation
practice.
These retreats are self catered and do not have the close supervision
of a public retreat. This results in considerable savings to our
members. It is expected that anyone attending these retreats is
able to be self guided in their meditation exercises. A Lifeflow
teacher will be present and available for interviews so you can
check up on how your retreat work is going.
