Members-only retreats at Tara Hills and Kurlana – go deeper with your practice

Tara Hills sunriseLifeflow members-only retreats build on the experience that you gain at our public retreats. Each retreat is supervised and includes classes, guided meditations and deep relaxation sessions (and yoga during our summer retreat). A teacher is also available for one on one sessions. There are many fewer sessions than in our main retreats - this allows greater autonomy but also requires more self guidance and ability to structure your own day in retreat. Prerequisites apply to all of these retreats - details are below.

Summer 10-day retreat at Tara Hills 2011-2012

Summer retreat 2011-12

Light my fire...? Light your own inner fire with Yoga-Tantra

2 pm Wed 28 Dec 2011–2 pm Fri 6 Jan 2012
John Burston et al

About this retreat
Tantra is about working with the spark of life, the spark of desire, the spark of life energy. Usually this either gets repressed, or it drives us ever onwards, looking for the next big thing, looking for the one that will satisfy. The tantra tradition in meditation has always had a place for this quality, which we usually first pick up as desire. It's actually deeper than desire, and can be tapped in a way to keep our own feeling life alive. It's about lighting your own fire, and recharging your feelings by yourself. It adds some kick to meditation too!

The 10-day retreat setting is an ideal environment to practise Yoga-Tantra – with the calm and concentration of retreat you can build the experiences of inner fire meditation, developing it to a much greater inensity than in everyday life. Plus, we'll look at how you can bring this into your everyday life after retreat.

As with all Members Retreats there will be a daily guided meditation and a deep relaxation session, allowing ample time for members to develop their own practice. The first formal session will be deep relaxation starting at 2 pm on the Wednesday. You can arrive any time from 10 am onwards on the Wednesday, and everyone is welcome to come for lunch that day.

Please note that prerequisites apply to this retreat. Participants are expected to stay for the entire 10 days. Also, if you are going straight back to work after this retreat, we recommend that you allow one extra day to settle back into your normal routines before recommencing work, ie arranging your leave so that you are not required back at work until Mon 9 Jan.

Easter retreat at Kurlana

Experience the big skies and starry nights at Kurlana Mallee Sanctuary

Relationship, shadow and integration
(Theme will continue over both Easter and October long weekends)

Retreat starts with lunch at 1 pm on Friday 6 April
Retreat finishes after lunch on Monday 9 April
Graham Williams et al

About this retreat
This retreat will cover aspects of relationships we experience and develop in our lives. Normally, once we mention relationship we think of the ‘special one’ we all yearn for with another person – this is only one aspect of relationship.

Lifeflow incorporates the entire spectrum of relationship as it encourages an integrated life of personal development. All relationships begin at home – with ourselves. How do we see and feel about ourselves – are we comfortable in our bodies – can we nurture ourselves or do we look to others to do this for us?

Of course there’s also our shadow – that side of our personality which we are convinced is ‘not us’ and which we want to perfect or get rid of. We’ll look at the relationship with our shadow and how to reincorporate it – accepting it as our friend rather than seeing it in all the terrible things that ‘others do’. This has a large effect on how we see and treat others and the projections we impose on them.

The question of relationship also brings in sexuality – incorporating your sexuality consciously into your meditation practice to bring your body and mind and your male and female sides together in the bliss of sexual energy and union. This bliss of union is one of the most ecstatic experiences it is possible to have.

And finally there is Ethics – the relationship of ourselves with the whole community of humanity and the natural world of which we are an integral part.

General Information

About members-only retreats
The Lifeflow Members’ Retreats at Tara Hills have been set up especially to support members build their own retreat practice. Each retreat will include a daily meditation class that will focus on the practical exercises from a recent Level 3 and 4 module, along with two other guided meditation sessions each day. The remaining time will be left free so that members can do their own meditation practice.

These retreats are self catered and do not have the close supervision of a public retreat. This results in considerable savings to our members. It is expected that anyone attending these retreats is able to be self guided in their meditation exercises. A Lifeflow teacher will be present and available for interviews so you can check up on how your retreat work is going.
