The practice of meditation can bring you to a place of deep calm – your body is relaxed, emotions are settled and your mind is clear. During this retreat we will explore, both through classes and by practical exercises, the deeper states of meditation and the associated experiences that go with these levels. Just as important as tapping the deeper levels of calm in formal meditation, is being able to maintain a light state of balance throughout the day. From a balanced perspective, you are better equipped to deal with life situations – negotiating conflicts, working with emotions and making decisions. Through the retreat we will practise a range of exercises for cultivating an everyday level of balance – meditation for life.
As this retreat runs for a whole week, it offers the opportunity to refresh yourself physically, emotionally and mentally. In all retreats we practise techniques that are useful in the retreat situation and can also be applied to everyday life. We aim to teach in a way that lets you link the experiences and understanding of meditation throughout your life. Please note that all retreat practice offers the time and space to allow a sense of deep unfolding and growth. At times this may lead to feeling intense emotions – this is a natural part of retreat and is a part of the unfolding process. The teachers conducting this retreat are highly skilled in working through these experiences.
