Our Learn to Meditate course is a practical course in which you can learn simple, effective techniques for bringing calm and balance into your everyday activities. With the skill of meditation you can learn to let go of busy mental chatter, deal better with worry and anxiety, sleep better and generally enjoy life more.
In this course a wide range of meditations are taught so that you find the techniques which work for you. We will also introduce you to short ‘spot’ mindfulness meditations which only take a moment to be of use – you can use them anywhere, anytime. They are great for restoring calm in the heat of the moment, bringing you ‘back to your senses’.
You will also be guided through longer meditations using the breath, visualisation, movement and sound. These will enable you to experience deeper states of calm and clarity.
Along with the guided meditations, each class includes gentle loosening and stretching exercises, a short discussion explaining an aspect of meditation (e.g. how it works, different types, deeper experiences, working with emotions etc.) and many opportunities to ask questions.
The course builds on what you learn from week to week in a relaxed, informal environment. There are usually about 10–15 students in each class. Find out more on our Frequently Asked Questions page or come along to one of our FREE Come and Try sessions.
I just got back from my meditation class…[and] am so impressed that I have offered everyone here a 7
week course on me. Danny, Principal Lawyer, Adelaide legal firm
I'm much calmer and generally less prone to getting stressed / panicked / worked up over things. More self aware and conscious of taking time to slow down and just be. Generally happier. Imogen, Uni student
[The teacher] was cool! Also very down to earth. David, teenager
Raised my awareness of my behaviour and triggers for stress and anxiety. Helped me better deal with these triggers and generally enjoy life a bit more. Magda, former participant
